TUI shows faith in Tunisia, Egypt and Turkey as it expands concept hotels
TUI will add 15 new concept hotels in the Mediterranean to its portfolio in the next financial year, including new Sensimar properties in Tunisia, Egypt and Turkey.
In total, the group will have 12 new Sensimar hotels in 2018/19 and three new Family Life properties.
Included for this winter is the Sensimar Alaya in the Egyptian resort of Marsa Elam (above). Next summer, 10 new Sensimar properties will be added including one in Djerba in Tunisia, one in the Dalaman area of Turkey and another in Hurghada in Egypt. Two new Family Life hotels will also be available in Kusadasi and Side in Turkey, and there’ll be a new one in Elounda in Crete too.
Next summer, TUI will also open its first concept hotel in the Greek island of Santorini with the launch of the TUI Sensimar Meltemi Blue. It is also adding more Sensimars in Italy, Croatia and Spain.
In total, TUI will expand the number of concept hotels from 88 to 103, of which UK guests will have access to 84.
TUI’s overall hotel portfolio consists of 380 properties, 50 of which are operated by third-parties.
“For our three international concept hotel brands, we plan to deliver strong growth in cooperation with local partners,” said TUI group executive board member in charge of hotels and resorts, Sebastian Ebel.
“Our concepts offer TUI’s renowned quality and a unique holiday experience, resulting in high customer satisfaction levels and occupancy rates in the hotels.
“We are also driving our growth roadmap in the hotel segment further ahead through our TUI Blue, Robinson and TUI Magic Life brands and our long-standing joint venture partners such as Riu.”
